The Sibly chart is interesting if you pull up the transits for October 16, 1962 and overlay a third wheel for today.
The "last thing" I notice is that Neptune is eerily trine the Sun in both cases. Back then Kennedy did the unconventional thing and showed patience much to the dismay of his hawkish generals. His intuition served him well during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It's a fascinating story about a rogue and unstable leader, Castro, appealing to Khrushchev to attack the U.S. preemptively. Fortunately, for the world, at least two of the actors then were of sane mind and chose to err on the side of caution. Even in the midst of panic when a radar technician accidentally put a training tape into the radar warning system and all hell broke loose, temporarily, heads remained rational and collected if not calm. But U.S. intelligence was behind the curve. We didn't think nuclear warheads were in place yet when considering our own "preemptive" retaliatory strike. We were wrong. They were already there and at least one was ready for launch.
Today Neptune once again is trine the nation's Sun. But instead of one unstable, erratic and unpredictable leader we have two. And perhaps not insignificantly Neptune is also square the Ascendant. In '62 we were operating on wrong information that was much more dangerous than it first appeared, but the President's intuition and patience probably saved countless lives. Today, just like during the missile crisis, I think there is misinformation as well in that North Korea is further ahead on the curve in their capabilities than currently assumed and reported. Unlike then, we hope that cooler heads prevail from the measured and well informed minds of the U.S. generals. Roles have flipped in some respect between the U.S. Presidency and military leadership.
Back then Pluto was transiting square to the Sibly Uranus-Ascendant opposition and quindecile the Moon; today Pluto is opposed the Sibly Sun and square the Sibly Saturn.
Then transiting Uranus was supporting the Sibly Venus and Mars by Sextile and Quintile respectively; now Uranus is square the Sibly Pluto-Mercury opposition, although it also sextile the Sibly Moon.
Saturn doesn't return to 5' Aquarius until February 2021.
Another dichotomy today is that all of the outer planets are transiting the Sibly's Northern Hemisphere while 55 years ago those same outer planets were traversing the Southern Hemisphere...
"This time is different" no doubt. And no doubt given enough time North Korea will fall under its own weight, as did the Russian complex despite Putin's attempt to resurrect its former glory years and power. BUT is there time?
