The Timing of Suicide
« on: November 20, 2017, 05:25:32 AM »
Just in time for this year's holiday season, I feel like opening this thread on the timing of suicide!  Mainly from a Jyotisha perspective, of course, since the unique dasha periods of each individual person holds most of the clues, as I pointed out recently in the charts of former Fleetwood Mac member, Bob Welch.  The closest Western equivalent is Firdaria, and it's just not reliable.  Bottom line.

OK, first up...Robin Williams.  No relation, although we both have a weird sense of humor.

 ;)

"There is no step along the road that anyone takes by chance. It has already been taken by him, although he has not yet embarked on it. For time but seems to go in one direction. We undertake a journey that is over. Yet it seems to have a future still unknown to us." "  (Jesus).

Will start in here after my morning cup of joe.  Halina, feel free if you like to add some Western asteroid analysis!

OK, some essential background info...from Wikipedia...

"His publicist Mara Buxbaum commented that he was suffering from severe depression prior to his death.[135] His wife Susan Schneider stated that in the period before his death, Williams had been sober, but was diagnosed with early stage Parkinson's disease, which was information he was "not yet ready to share publicly."[136][137] An autopsy revealed that Williams had been suffering from Lewy body dementia, which had been misdiagnosed as Parkinson's. This may have contributed to his depression.[136][138][139]

In an essay published in the journal Neurology two years after his death, Susan Schneider revealed that the pathology of Lewy body dementia in Williams was described by several doctors as among the worst pathologies they had seen. She described the early symptoms of his disease as beginning in October 2013. It included a sudden and prolonged spike in fear and anxiety, constipation, urinary difficulty, heartburn, sleeplessness and insomnia, a poor sense of smell, stress, and a slight tremor in his left hand. Eventually, she said, he suffered from paranoia, delusions, severe insomnia, memory loss, and high cortisol levels, indicating stress. According to Schneider, "Robin was losing his mind and he was aware of it ... He kept saying, 'I just want to reboot my brain.'"[9]

Death

On August 11, 2014, Williams committed suicide at his home in Paradise Cay, California, at the age of 63.[8] In the initial report released on August 12, the Marin County Sheriff's Office deputy coroner stated Williams had hanged himself with a belt and died from asphyxiation.[140][141][142] The final autopsy report, released in November 2014, affirmed that Williams had committed suicide as initially described; neither alcohol nor illegal drugs were involved, while all prescription drugs present in his body were at "therapeutic" levels. The report also noted that Williams had been suffering "a recent increase in paranoia".[143] An examination of his brain tissue revealed the presence of "diffuse Lewy body dementia", which had been misdiagnosed as Parkinson's disease.[138] Describing the disease as "the terrorist inside my husband's brain", his wife Susan Schneider stated that "however you look at it—the presence of Lewy bodies took his life."
"There is no step along the road that anyone takes by chance. It has already been taken by him, although he has not yet embarked on it. For time but seems to go in one direction. We undertake a journey that is over. Yet it seems to have a future still unknown to us." "  (Jesus).

Since his wife believes he began to get ill in October of 2013, let's see what was going on then...yes, in his Vimshottari Dasha, he had recently begun his 13-month Saturn sub-period...

Vimsottari Dasa:

 Ket MD: 2008-06-22 (5:29:57 am) - 2015-06-22 (10:11:14 pm)

  Antardasas in this MD:

  Ket: 2008-06-22 (5:29:57 am) - 2008-11-18 (8:52:21 am)
  Ven: 2008-11-18 (8:52:21 am) - 2010-01-18 (11:39:14 am)
  Sun: 2010-01-18 (11:39:14 am) - 2010-05-26 (7:41:18 am)
  Moon: 2010-05-26 (7:41:18 am) - 2010-12-25 (9:04:44 am)
  Mars: 2010-12-25 (9:04:44 am) - 2011-05-23 (12:27:09 pm)
  Rah: 2011-05-23 (12:27:09 pm) - 2012-06-10 (12:33:20 am)
  Jup: 2012-06-10 (12:33:20 am) - 2013-05-16 (9:58:51 pm)
  Sat: 2013-05-16 (9:58:51 pm) - 2014-06-25 (5:25:23 pm)
  Merc: 2014-06-25 (5:25:23 pm) - 2015-06-22 (10:11:14 pm)

As can be seen from his attached birth chart, Saturn is in his 12th House, and is aspected by the 6th House ruler from the 6th House, and by natural malefic Mars.  Additionally, Mars is the lone maraka graha (Seizer) for those with Libra lagna, such as Williams.

Saturn is also in his 12th House in his D-9 Navamsha chart, conjunct the Moon, ruler of his 5th House of viveka...discrimination, judgment, discernment, reflection, etc.  They too are aspected by this chart's 6th House ruler from the 6th.

So bottom line, it's easy to see why his illness began shortly after his Saturn sub-period began...

He then entered his Mercury sub-period around six or seven weeks before he made his transition.  Mercury in his birth chart is gandanta, and rules his mooltrikona 12th House.  It is conjunct the natural malefic Sun, and they too are aspected by the ruler of the 6th from the 6th.  And in his D-9 chart, Mercury is conjunct malefics Rahu and Mars in the 1st House, and aspected by this chart's 8th House ruler.  So the Mercury sub-period would be worse than the Saturn sub-period.

At the time he made his transition, transiting Mercury was partile conjunct natal Mercury, with Mercury being his Most Malefic Planet.

Enough of the analysis, although there's more.  Just want to give an idea of how easily this can be seen in advance, if one has the proper birth time and knowledge of relevant life conditions...

Thank you Halina.

OK, here's David Hawthorne's Systems' Approach to Vedic Astrology video on Robin Williams, done the day after his transition, I believe.
