Changing of the old guard in Congress

Another manifestation of tr. Uranus opp. Saturn, several senior lawmakers bid farewell yesterday.

Senators Ted Stevens, Robert Byrd, John Warner, Pete Domenici, Ralph Regula and Rep. John Dingell left or will be leaving soon.

And with the end of an era (Saturn) comes the opportunity for exciting, fresh change (Uranus).

Hi Stacy.

What actually seems to be happening is that Obama is picking veterans known for their expertise as opposed to those who would advocate radical change.  Thus the wisdom of Saturn is blended with the innovation of Uranus, since both planets are in the current astrological mix.

The other factor is that the Democrats, with their socialistic agenda, are nothing new.  In order to have something truly new we would need to see another group successfully penetrate the two party system.  That hasn't happened yet.  The closest thing we saw was Ross Perot, and almost unnoticed, was Joe Lieberman being forced to run as an independent, after he lost the Democratic primary to rerun for the Senate, and winning his seat back, against both a Democratic candidate and a Republican candidate.  The Democrats decided to "forgive" him for backing McCain.  But, really, he owed the Democratic Party a slap in the face.

Perhaps when Uranus goes into Aries we will see a real assertion of the change of Aquarius.  Next election.

Hi Ken,

Those compatible inter-aspects I was referring to (offline) --hmmm...don't apply to our politics apparently!

Interesting topic for a future thread, though, as in what indicates liberal or conservative politics, etc.
