Attached is the chart of a client and pupil who has a severe lupus condition that has been in remission for a couple of years but she is now suffering a severe flare up that started in September 2008 and could be fatal.
She is a practising psychologist who has had to close her office and now consults part time from her home.
As you can understand she is now deeply depressed and in need of a great deal of help.
Her birth time is not exact, but the time used responds well to transits, progressions and directions. For those of you who prefer to calculate your own chart, she was born on the 14th July 1959, 1.05 am ACST, Adelaide, Australia. She is a second generation Australian of Greek descent.
I would welcome any insight you have to offer, particularly those of you who are skilled in medical astrology.

My client has done several detoxes over the past few years and had been doing one a couple of months before the flare-up. I think tension because of clashes between her best friend and a new friend, resulting in the loss of her former best friend, was partly to blame. The type of Lupus she has is SLE Systemic systemic lupus erythematosus."The most up-to-date conventional medical information on SLE is that it "most often harms the heart, joints, skin, lungs, blood vessels, liver, kidneys, and nervous system. The course of the disease is unpredictable, with periods of illness (called flares) alternating with remissions. The disease occurs nine times more often in women than in men, especially between the ages of 15 and 50, and is more common in those of non-European descent. SLE is treatable through addressing its symptoms, mainly with corticosteroids and immunosuppressants; there is currently no {conventional} cure. SLE can be fatal, although with recent medical advances, fatalities are becoming increasingly rare. Survival for people with SLE in the United States, Canada, and Europe is approximately 95% at five years, 90% at 10 years, and 78% at 20 years."
Her Chart:I will focus on a specific region: INTERCEPTED - CANCER/CAPRICORN AXIS
Along with the liver and kidneys, our skin is one of our body’s primary filters of toxins. For instance, with dying yeast, the toxins work their way through to the surface of the skin. The symptoms as outbreaks over the body; especially the facial areas, on on the scalp in some cases. There is usually a classic malar rash, mostly known as a 'butterfly rash' on the face that is commonly associated SLE. Some sufferers may show thick, scaly red patches on their skin that is called Discoid lupus. Also there is the alopecia-type, which can include mouth, nasal, and/or vaginal ulcers.
I've seen these cases before. Lupus is a kind of super-immune dis-ease that can kill. An inflammatory chronic auto-immune
blood disorder disease that affects the connective tissue with super allergic symptoms. In SLE, bascially the body's immune system can reverse and produces antibodies against itself, especially against proteins in the cell nucleus. Painful inflammation of the joints and excess mucus excretions is common in cases of Lupus.
So when the skin, tissues, joints, blood vessels become inflamed it is because of
acidity that results from the over-production of mucus ~ attempting to help protect the body from inflammation. However, the excess mucus itself becomes inflammatory.
The excess mucus obstructs the membranes, inflames them, and they manifest into red-colored lesions, or rashes on the skin. Red (The Sun) is the color of inflammation or burning. With her natal Sun intercepted in Cancer, we see the generalized spread of her Lupus condition throughout her body.
Knowing this means we can help to calm down her flare-ups using color therapy - in the case of Lupus, and inflammation, the color blue is the counter antidote. The use of this color in treatment is essential, as it is very calming for patients suffering from extreme cases of inflammation.
The cure is finding the correct immune system balance, and from the astrological medical perspective, we look to the birth chart.
I always look
first to see if there are any Intercepted Signs in the chart. Any intercepted signs will show where the problems are located.
Here, in this woman's case, she has
Cancer intercepted in the Third House. Her case is a clear one of a blood disorder involving her alkaline/acid balance.
Because her natal Sun in Cancer is located here, the SLE can flare-up at any time through a variety of ignitors, and given her a wide range of problems, including becoming sensitive to, and avoiding sunlight, conventional medicine only is able at this time to treat the symptoms, mainly with steroids, and analgesics to fight the pain associated with SLE.
Her Cancer is Intercepted in the Third House, containing her natal Sun.
Her Capricorn is Intercepted in the Ninth House containing her natal Saturn.It is correct by those who noted the prior emotional upset which was the spark for this. Any kind of serious emotional disruption to her sense of normalcy, or security can spark a psychogenic reaction. Very good work, as emotions are a very important factor when monitoring and timing the onset of illnesses.
The proper use of biochemical cell salts should do the trick. Her sodium levels should be tested.
With Sagittarius on the cusp and having the sign of Capricorn Intercepted, the emotional issues would be a result of her independence and her freedom obtained with security, safety, being put secondary. It is "locked" via interception in the Ninth House of expression, philosophy (her occupation in helping others through psychology.) Usually, she would be out of her league here because she's not in line with her ambitions, so although she would achieve measures of success, they may be only temporary. Any emotional upsets would spark illness.
The Capricorn corrective biochemical cell salt is Cal. Phos.She has Gemini on the cusp of her Third house and Cancer intercepted here. This would indicate that the busy aspects of life in general throws her requirements of closeness and protection off-balance. Usually it comes with digestive problems when she discovers that all the things she has to do, that she has to adapt to, don't really allow her any time to take care of the things indicated by the Third House.
The Cancer corrective cell salt is Cal. Fluor.Basically, the emotional upsets spark what in her case is a form of Acidosis and Anaerobia ~ a lack of lack of alkalinity in her body. Her cells are being deprived of oxygen and she has a severe lack of minerals. Her body's cells are losing memory, and this causes her cells to forget their proper functions.
TREATMENTShe has a blood disorder and her diet should immediately reflect this. For 2.5 years, she should eat nearly raw or vegan-type foods. We know that consuming raw foods is a wonderful treatment in healing due mainly because of the enzymatic makeup of fruits, vegetables, seeds, and various nuts.
In order to cleanse her blood and her tissues, she must stop eating any animal flesh (especially pork) or animal excreta like eggs, and dairy products, as well as any refined-type foods of grains and those containing starches.
She should also add to her diet drinking floride-free water (alkaline water, or water with an electrolyte balance. This kind of water can raise her body's pH, helping her body to achieve more alkaline and by letting the water molecules get into her body's cells to provide her the best hydration penetration for cure. This also helps her to get more minerals into her system. She can also drink more vegetable juices.
It is suggested she eat frequent daily small meals, and refrain from consuming any cow's milk or beef products. Increase vegetable intake and eat fish several times a week for the increased omega-3 fatty acid content.
Omega-3 fatty acids and flaxseed oil helps to ease and reduce inflammation. The Omega-3 fatty acids will greatly improve her quality of life, lessen her pain, her imflammation and fight the fatigue. She must increase her daily intake of fatty fish like tuna, salmon, lake trout, mackerel, herring, and sardines.
Omega-3 fatty acids accomplishes much of what her Intercepted Cancer Sun needs: it includes calcium and other healthy substances the cells need to operate properly.
The cells are starved, and require assistance through the diet. Immediately, relaxation occurs for the muscles, there is a promotion and regulation of secretion of substances that include digestive enzymes and hormones, fertility control, and for cell division and health cell growth. Omega-3 fatty acids are also required for healthy brain development and functions.
Alfalfa sprouts or tablets which contain L-canavanine sulfate should be avoided, along with L-tryptophan which can produce substances in the body that promote the auto-immune activity. She should stick to a whole foods diet.
She should be treated in a
BLUE colored room to calm her down any flare ups. This includes wearing blue outfits, with blue bedsheets, pillow covers, etc. Blue-colored lightblubs should also be used in lamps when she has flareups. Usually, the sensitivity to sunlight is due to her condition, in addition to the fact that her natal Cancer Sun is intercepted. Blue will calm the flareups down considerably along with the overall treatment.
Her body should be treated with sea salt baths, with aromas of Chamomile and Lavender, with the color
blue strongly represented in the bathroom during times where stress is a problem. The importance of being at ease, relaxed, and carefree is very important here.
Her stellar cells of her astral body (thus also her body's cells) are activated by transits, progressions, and world transits. She should take some time to be with others where emotionally, she can receive plenty of support... laughter, positive-feelings, with her being allowed to express freely about her lack of security and how silly that all is.
Since she works in the field of psychology, she should receive support from others in this respect, and see that she has the freedom to feel however she wants, and that no one can make her feel any way she does not see fit. It would also help her to have board games around where she can feel supported with others. Plenty of laughter is part of her treatment.
